National Guard troops, activated to assist in fighting crime, are spending their days picking up litter with their bare hands, raking leaves and spreading mulch.
Being yanked away from their jobs and families for an emergency is one thing. Having that happen to do yard chores is quite another.
This should do wonders for both recruiting and retention.
