ReplyDeletedesigner inspiration is taken from Nausicaa's flyer in the movie - Nausicaa Valley of the Wind. The original sf/fantasy design had no functional stabilizers.

ReplyDeleteProbably way over to "unsafe"-- a motor glider with a L/D ratio of 10. That's better than the F-4, maybe. But not by much.
DeleteA quick google says you glide 6 nm with 5K feet altitude. T/W ratio .87:1.
