Imagine: Roving Military Patrols, Arresting and Detaining Anybody Who Looks Even Vaguely Hispanic.

If you are OK with that, then, respectfully, you need to stop saying the Pledge of Allegiance. For you are lying every time you do.
If you are not OK with that, then get off your ass and get to work ensuring that the closest that the TOFF ever comes to the White House again is a courtroom in D.C.

I grew up in the late 50s and 60s and the pledge applied to everyone
ReplyDeleteas we were taught. At that time to be here it was the intent to
become a citizen.
As to how the Nazis came to power that was laid out in by time I
was in middle school.
In the end it can happen again as all that was needed is people
to look the other way. Until it was their turn.

Apologies for a tawdry example, but it is a legend that still has some life.
If we consider the states with significant Hispanic populations, NC has had one of the fastest if not fastest growing populations in that direction. Better citizens than most of the white trash around here. We have a number of major highways, so we've had some sturm und drang with the El Chapo gang sorting out the new power structure.

It's our children's future we are selling off. Look to Sweden and Germany where it's against the LAW to report assault, Rape or Murder because of Islamophobia.

Reminds me of our discussion that that "Our Democracy" isn't mentioned once in the bedrock documents of our country.
If a Russian citizen is arrested on the streets of New York City, he or she would be have the same constitutional rights you (sadly) have. They would have the right to an attorney (and a public defender, if they couldn't pay one). They would have a right to trial by jury. They would have a right to not be tortured. If they had a residence, they would have a right to not have it searched without probably cause and/or a warrant.
