Because It's Friday

Some drone footage:

Can't say I'm too crazy of the viewpoint. It looks too much like a model railroad set.

  1. LOL ~ Reminds me I need to check on my concrete research resources, it's been a bit. Last time I looked the coming consensus to the ((( Secret of Roman Concrete ))) was ... hot water. Bit more complicated than that but ones and zeros a bunch of bare-footed bozos barely out of the stone age used boiling water to pour stronger, long-lasting concrete than we can pour today!

Yeah, it does look a little unreal ...

  2. As I am watching this on a rainy day, I was wondering, what do steam trains do with the coal when it's raining? Maybe a tarp, or does wet coal still burn?

  3. if you throw wet coal into the firbox it not wet for long its
very hot as in north of 1000F and we are talking over 100sqft
    of it.

Starting from a cold engine you use oil soaked rag to light
some wood then you add a few scoops of dry coal, by time your
seeing pressure the fire is hot enough to accept wet coal.

There are storage issues with coal, some times you need to
keep it wet to avoid spontaneous combustion.

    Eck!
