  1. From 2007, an explaination of the actions necessary to repair/overhaul/recertify a steam locomotive in the UK. Costs in excess of £100,000 then, likely much steeper now. Note the extensive metalwork repair and replacement listed.

  2. Dunno about cert there, but here in the US, if you do one, it has an expiration date...so there's no point (for an operation like Steamtown) in doing it to a loco they don't use regularly...like the BigBoy they had there.
