Why Republicans Love Putin: They Want to Emulate Him

From the TOFF to the pack of lunatics who are (mostly) running to be his running mate, they want to invade Mexico, just like the Russians invaded Ukraine.

One has to be completely blind to history to think that would be a good idea. The Mexican people will react like any other national group when invaded by their neighboring country. You have to wonder about the intellectual capacity of those arguing for such an invasion.

Besides that, one can see that any such conflict would be pure gold to our adversaries. We would lose the friendship of almost every nation in the global south, including those in our hemisphere. We would reinforce the propaganda line of the Central and South American leftists. We would give a very large opening to China to argue that a Chinese military presence in Central or South America would provide those nations with stability and protection against an attack by the imperialist Yankees.

This is all fitting in with the desire of a goodly number of Republicans to trash the Constitution and institute a dictatorship, let by the Senile Orange Menace, complete with summary executions and death squads killing people that displease them.

If you vote for a Republican, you hate America. If you served in the armed forces and you vote for Republicans, you violate your oath.
