Some Right-Wingers Are Nuts

Here's the thing: If they lose on a major issue or lose an election, those loons start fantasizing about rising up in rebellion.

About fourteen years ago, the prospect of having to have health insurance, or worse, government-subsidized health insurance, caused many of them to lose their minds and go around frothing at the mouth and bleating about "second amendment solutions."

The same thing happened when their Orange Demigod began claiming that the election was stolen, that no, he didn't lose by eight million votes and 76 electoral votes. Despite the TOFF and his minions filing over sixty court cases, no provable evidence of election fraud emerged. That didn't stop the far-right fabulists from dreaming of a revolution. Only this time around, they actually tried to turn their fantasy into reality, which is why a goodly number of them have been doing Federal time.

The same thing will happen next year. Because, at the core of their souls, they don't believe in democracy. They don't believe that elections should be contests of ideas and that the side with the better ideas should win. They don't believe in bipartisan government, in compromise, or coming together for the common good. No, they believe in brutality, in autocracy, in some moronic concept called "owning the libs." When they lose elections, they believe in tearing the system down. They are no different from someone who, when losing the game, kicks over the table and destroys the game.

They are, in short, fascists.

  1. Obama spawned the prepper movement in NC. It made them half crazy and ammunition would be in short supply from time to time for many years. Some even turned wrenches in shops that serviced Jaguars and BMW's. One night we are doing a Goat Lady Dairy dinner and we were seated at a large mixed table of people we had never seen before in that era with another couple. Once the conversation got warmed up and things trended in that direction, I asked about a shortage and a wife had to shush up her husband about to get on a soapbox.

We got to know the Tate's when they were just getting started and Climax is a rural as it gets here:

... and the world." - Steve Tate, Goat Lady Dairy co-founder

Since 1995, Goat Lady Dairy has changed our customers' relationship to local food and farming by giving them a direct connection to their food...

  2. There was an undercurrent of racism there, too. Besides the preppers going batshit, there were the Birthers.

  3. More than an undercurrent. None of our tech support staff wanted to be driving while black, hispanic or have a muslim name in some counties

Hege took Buford Pusser and Joe Arpaio as role models. Hege ordered all deputies to dress in paramilitary fatigues and combat boots; Hege dressed this way himself, despite the tradition of business attire for Davidson County sheriffs. Hege reinstated the use of chain gang prisoner labor. He also removed the television sets and books (except for the Bible) from the county jail.

The state had to pass a law that felons couldn't hold office after that.

  4. If I recall correctly, can’t the current state of childish give-me-what-I-want ism be traced back to Newt Gingrich and the Tea Party?
Hold out on getting anything done in DC until we get our way? And from there it has just gotten worse.

  5. Dale, yes. Newtie had a column in the Washington Post several days ago, calling for the expulsion of Gaetz from the party, for obstructionism and bomb- throwing.

The comments were brutal. Many likened Gingrich to an arsonist denouncing another arsonist.
