ReplyDeletew3ski, no, not necessarily. The issue in question is the sound deadening foam that Phillips Respironics used in its machines. That particular foam off-gassed and deteriorated, resulting in inhaled gases and particles.
ReplyDeleteYou can bet your ass every other manufacturer is looking at their devices, as is the FDA, and will be proactive on responding because Phillips is gonna get bent over on this one so badly it may well bankrupt at least the U.S. operations. This will be an epic class action suit, the damages will be immense and, as such, it will attract some top level legal and computer forensic specialists to chase down every penny they can get.
Hopefully, after this, Roy Jakobs and company won't even be able to sell rubber dog shit in Hong Kong.
With the right lawyers they apologize without admitting fault and possibly just walk away. Or file BK. The people in the class are found to be "unsecured creditors". They might see some nickels and dimes in the year 2030.
