Former President Donald Trump faced new charges Thursday in a case accusing him of illegally possessing classified documents, with prosecutors alleging that he asked a staffer to delete camera footage at his Florida estate in an effort to obstruct a federal investigation into the records.
The new indictment includes extra charges of obstruction and willful retention of national defense information, adding fresh detail to a criminal case issued last month against Trump and a close aide.

According to the indictment, Nauta met with De Oliveira on June 25, 2022, at Mar-a-Lago, where they went to a security guard booth where surveillance video is displayed on monitors and walked with a flashlight through a tunnel where the storage room was located, observing and pointing out surveillance cameras.
Two days later, according to the indictment, De Oliveira walked through a basement tunnel with an unidentified Trump employee to an audio closet, where De Oliveira in a private conversation asked how many days the server retained footage.
De Oliveira, prosecutors said, told the employee that “the boss” wanted the server deleted and asked, “What are we going to do?”
During a voluntary interview with the FBI last January, prosecutors say, De Oliveira lied when he said he “never saw nothing” with regard to boxes at Mar-a-Lago.
The Feds served a subpoena for, among other things, surveillance footage. And then, after the subpoena was served, the cameras captured Trump's minions walking around, looking for the location of the cameras.
These guys make "The Gang That Couldn't Shoot Straight" look like criminal masterminds. The TOFF may act like he's running a crime family, but not all of his workers have bought into that fantasy. They're not willing to go to Federal prison to protect his pasty ass.
The saying from the Watergate scandal was: "It's not the crime, it's the coverup." The TOFF has to be uncommonly stupid not to have learned that lesson.
Still haven't dug up that golf-course grave ...

Ten Bears, it sure did look suspicious that the cremated remains took multiple pall bearers struggling to transport her. Also, since Trump got rid of her why would he want to keep her remains on his private property besides no one would know if the dirt was disturbed at a later date.
ReplyDeleteWell, TOFF has about the same percent of success in court cases recently as the movie does on Rotten Tomatoes; 0%.
ReplyDeleteI wrote about it dan, like, the next day: dig up that New Jersey golf-course grave
ReplyDeleteAfter “my, that’s not at all suspicious,” the first thought that came to mind upon reading drumpf uck had buried his battered ex-wife out in the front yard of his New Jersey golf course was of an old modern-day western I read several years ago. About a “rancher” who buried his life-long top hand out in the yard. Not out of alturism, mind you, nor any love shared, or lost. Turns out in years bygone the (white) rancher and his (native) top-hand had done some illegal stuff, either stole or illegally mined some uranium, and he just didn’t want to take the chance, even after all those years, someone, a mole, might find out about it.
It also reminded me of that old singing frog cartoon. I've made numerous Old Outlaw jokes here about the whole ineptitude of these guys, not even Wiseguys. Had a real nice, sweet gig, hookers' 'n blow, all it had do was keep it head down and mouth shut but noooo, it just had to have its' big publicity. Run for pretendident, lose legitimately, start a media outlet and spend the next four or eight years moaning about how it had been rigged, 'stolen'
What could go wrong ... ?
I think that was one of Tony Hillerman’s stories, Ten Bears.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, People of Darkness ... on a shelf around here somewhere
ReplyDeleteTen Bears, I’ve read most of his stuff. His autobiography was interesting, at least the first 2/3rds of it.
ReplyDeleteI’ve been meaning to ask you this for a long time: are you a fan of “The Outlaw Josie Wales”?
No. It was my call-sign in the Army, followed me into civilian helicoptering and then onto the Internet. Rhymes with my 'christian' name
ReplyDeleteThough 1) I have hunted a few and 2) there really was a Ten Bears ...
