Wearing some device that blocks your sight and hearing to all outside inputs... what can ever go wrong with that?
Besides that, $3,500 is a price point that would appeal to the same type of entitled assholes who buy Teslas.*

* A high percentage of Teslas seem to be driven by drivers who drive as though they own the road and that the rules don't apply to them because they drive expensive EVs. So, yes, assholes.
As I understand it, it has an AR mode that simply overlays input/data over the real world, so you can see through it in that mode. Seems akin to the LCD windows that can be switched.

ReplyDelete$3500 .... to start. And forget it if you wear glasses. Custom inserts from Leitz (sp?) are mentioned for the 4-eyed like me.
So forget it. I don't care about AR or VR with today's tech. Get back to me when it's the holodeck.
Further research it seems correct that it simply feeds a camera view of the world to an interior screen, no visual pass through…and the lens issue sucks…no thanks. Of course, since they now say between 60-70% of the worlds populations wears or needs glasses…selling opportunity for Zeiss.
