Dug out of the ground. They've probably been there since the late '40s.

ReplyDeleteWell, that's I use them for, to retard the outflow of water and aeriate the bottom of the pot; but checking with my potter spouse, with a kiln (for sale!) in the basement yes, that's what they are: what we would call in the sawmill stickers, spacers that go between what is to be dried. Mia culpa.
