A Minor Revolver Quibble

Tam wants to know why, if she wants a new 3" 681, she has to buy one from Rossi.

My quibble is that, at 27.3 ounces, that gun is lighter than a 681. I have a 3" Model 65 that, empty, clocks in at 32 ounces. So the Rossi RP63 is probably much closer to being analogous to a Smith & Wesson Model 65.

Which aren't being made anymore, either. You can get a 2.75" Model 66, but it's going to cost about as much as a brace of RP63s.

  1. 65, 681, whatever… That’s beside the point.

Neither are in Smith’s catalog in that format these days.
