Your Sunday Morning Jet Noise

The "Tweet", an A-37:

  1. A friend flew the T-37 in UPT and said they flew about like they looked. Excellent 1st jet to learn procedures. He said it was quite the next step into the T-38. A lot of Air Guard units flew them in the early 80's as the A-37. Kind of a Kmart version of an attack jet. I believe there might be a few still operating down in South America.

  2. Just for a second on the approach it looked like a 310 with 'things' hanging off it. Probably would have been an acceptable COIN aircraft, but minimal/no protection for the pilots or engines. And if they had, it would have carried even less ordnance.

  3. OldNFO, you’re aware that the A-37 was used during the Vietnam War and saw use in Central/South America in the COIN role?

AFAIK, it was reasonably successful in VN.
