Hard to Find Good Help When You're an Asshole

Former president Donald Trump and close aides have spent the eight days since the FBI searched his Florida home rushing to assemble a team of respected defense lawyers. But the answer they keep hearing is “no.”

The two biggest problems facing the TOFF are that he has a well deserved reputation for both not following legal advice (especially when it comes to keeping his mouth shut) and for not paying his bills. Add to that the possible blowback of being coated with the reputational stink of defending that fat future felon.
