ReplyDeleteImpressive. That is a 12,000 foot runway, and they used what, maybe half or less before rotation.
ReplyDeleteEven if it was lightly loaded, that is a pretty short takeoff run.
We will see if they can rebuild it. I doubt that they do.
That's a shame. Got on her at NAS North Island about 5-6 years ago. BIG airplane. She was hauling missiles for some testing on the east coast. Big, noisy, and truly an aluminium overcast...LOL
