The USSF committed to providing an equal rate of pay for the women’s and men’s national teams — including World Cup bonuses — subject to collective bargaining agreements with the unions that separately represent the women and men.
It's been rank discrimination all along for the USSF to pay men more than women. Nobody outside of rabid soccer fans in the United States would have ever heard of the USSF if it wasn't for the sustained excellence of the women's team. The TV ratings are far higher for the women's games.
So yes, it's about fucking time, even if the quibbling about the collective bargaining agreements may be a loophole that one could steam a superstanker through.
