I like shooting it, a lot. I've shot a few matches with it. The only issue for match shooting is that the magazine disconnect holds in the magazines (I don't have "mouse-trap" ones), so I have to strip them out with my off hand. I won't pull that out, as I want to retain the option of carrying the gun. Disabling a safety device on a carry gun is a bad idea.
The sharp edges of the hammer were fixable. 10-round magazines are readily available for those living in
I really do like it. In case I'm not being clear about that.
Is that a Unicomp keyboard in the background?
ReplyDeleteThat's another great piece of equipment.
It is. I got it to replace a Model M so I’d have the Winders keys. For some reason, it hasn’t worked right since my last move. (The Model M still works.)
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure the original Model Ms are indestructible. I've got one with PS/2 and one with an AT connector, and those still work fine, but are 101-key. I've had Unicomps at work, never quite gotten around to buying one to have at home.
ReplyDeleteYeah, the Unicomp one is broken. Quite a few keys don’t work.
DeleteThe Model M soldiers on…..
I found a broken Model M in a thrift store for $2. I bought it and salvaged all of the key caps.
