Nearly all COVID-19 deaths in the U.S. now are in people who weren’t vaccinated, a staggering demonstration of how effective the shots have been and an indication that deaths per day — now down to under 300 — could be practically zero if everyone eligible got the vaccine.
This, from a hospital in Missouri:
“A patient we had yesterday is tragically not with us today,” her post read. “... A COVID-19 nurse manager shared with me a very impactful story from a patient in his 40s in the COVID unit who passed last night. We had him for a week and, unfortunately, he continued to deteriorate to the point requiring intubation.
“Prior to intubating, he became very tearful. He told the nurses he didn’t think he needed to get vaccinated and now wishes he had, and he was so sorry.”
The Governor of West Virginia has said that people who are refusing to be vaccinated have entered themselves in a death lottery. He is quite right about that. The two-thirds of unvaccinated Americans who are refusing to become vaccinated are gambling with their lives.
And when the story airs of them, lying in a hospital bed, moaning that they should have not listened to idiots like Marjorie Greene and just have gotten their shots, I'm going to change the channel.
Back when I was teaching, when I had an office, with a door I could put stuff on because that's what you do when you're teaching Science, Technology, Engineering and Math and you have an office, with a door to put stuff ~ cartoons*, quotes, etc ~ on ... is put stuff on the door. One of my favorites was "Poor planning on your part does not constitute a crisis on mine."
ReplyDeleteRanks right in there with "If you didn't have time to do it right the first time what makes you think you have time to do it right the second time?" and
"The answer is never the answer, what's really interesting in the mystery ;) "

Hope this works...

That's pretty old school Jimmy, not sure the ... ahhh, yutes will get it ;)
ReplyDeleteJimmy, I am stealing that for future use.
ReplyDeleteTell me about it. I live in Utah. I don't know what point they are trying to prove this time. State government has done a good job. The Church of LDS is standing by, clutching pearls.
ReplyDeleteI wish they would just say- it is okay. Go get vaccinated.
Be careful. Lack of empathy is not one of ours, it is one of theirs. But ability to understand consequences is definitely one of ours.
ReplyDeleteBelief in my skygod will save me
ReplyDeleteuntil it doesn’t.
DV-didn't work for Herman Cain. Sky god picky about who he save I suppose. It's all good, dead religious covid-19 anti-vaxxers go straight to hebben so they got that going for them. You can't fight such overwhelming stupidity. Too bad they are going to infect many non-cultists before they keel over. God helps those who help themselves so if God provides a vaccine and a Republican refuses it I got no fucks left to give. Go die quickly and alone so you don't kill us normals, cultists.
ReplyDeleteCall. E a cold hearted bastard, if you want, but if the unvaccinated get sick, they should isolate at home and not burden and put at risk the health care system. Choices have consequences.
ReplyDeleteDon't the republicans realize they have a demographic problem already.
