A blog by a "sucker" and a "loser" who served her country in the Navy.
If you're one of the Covidiots who believe that COVID-19 is "just the flu",
that the 2020 election was stolen, or
especially if you supported the 1/6/21 insurrection,
leave now.

COMMENT MODERATION IS IN EFFECT UFN. This means that if you are an insulting dick, nobody will ever see it.
Yes, because baby jeebus his own self protects those true Trumpite red (neck) states on the lower left corner of this Deep State so called chart. His eye is on the sparrow. And I know Trump watches me. In him I trust. I sure don't want to come down with that awful autism I keep hearing about.
ReplyDeleteThis is a weird set of criteria for the two axes, which leads to weird results. In what universe does New Jersey outperform Florida on Covid mortality, even not adjusting for average age of population? Quite frankly, the *ONLY* valid Covid metric is deaths per capita. Everything else is just a shopping expedition.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like the standard "shopping for data that proves my political viewpoint". If you torture the data enough, it will confess to everything.
And if you are a non-believer covid and its data is all hoax...
ReplyDeleteI have no patience for disclaiming data, present your data.
Or in old internet parlance, CITE!
Eck!
My point is that the data don't tell us anything meaningful. These data seem meaningful:
ReplyDeleteCase Fatality Rate
ICU Utilization Rate due to Covid
Non-ICU hospitalization rate due to Covid
Sick days taken due to Covid (this is a little shakier, but still seems valid)
Heck, I could even see tracking downside effects of lockdowns: child suicides, drug abuse, unemployment, business failures (although this is getting harder to track).
These data are not at all fake. As with all data sets there will be problems, but these are all really important.
But "Daily Rate of First Dones Administered"? Doesn't seem remotely as important as the ones I listed. At least, that's my $0.02 worth.
