GOP: Millions of Dollars and Thousand of Hours to Investigate Benghazi, Not One Thin Dime to Investigate the Insurrection

That is basically the premise of the Republican party.

Senate Republicans on Friday blocked creation of a bipartisan panel to study the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol in a show of party loyalty to former President Donald Trump, aiming to shift the political focus away from the violent insurrection by his GOP supporters.

These are the seditious bastards who are trying to sweep Trump's Insurrection under the rug:

Barrasso (R-WY) Boozman (R-AR) Capito (R-WV) Cornyn (R-TX) Cotton (R-AR)
Cramer (R-ND) Crapo (R-ID) Cruz (R-TX) Daines (R-MT) Ernst (R-IA)
Fischer (R-NE) Graham (R-SC) Grassley (R-IA) Hagerty (R-TN) Hawley (R-MO)
Hoeven (R-ND) Hyde-Smith (R-MS) Johnson (R-WI) Kennedy (R-LA) Lankford (R-OK)
Lee (R-UT) Lummis (R-WY) Marshall (R-KS) McConnell (R-KY) Moran (R-KS)
Paul (R-KY) Rubio (R-FL) Scott (R-FL) Scott (R-SC) Sullivan (R-AK)
Thune (R-SD) Tillis (R-NC) Tuberville (R-AL) Wicker (R-MS) Young (R-IN)

Every one of them has abrogated their oath of loyalty to the Constitution, preferring instead to kiss Trump's ass. This is as blatant a betrayal of this country as it would have been if they had voted against the formation of the 9-11 Commission. They have chosen to support the MAGA terrorists over the rule of law.

There isn't a single one of those despicable people who should be allowed to mingle with law-abiding American citizens.

  1. The Alford Plea? Not an admission of guilt but concession the evidence would convict?

Did the Repubs just concede they are guilty of insurrection?

  2. Insurrection? ALL of thems have guns. Plural. If their goal was insurrection some would have thought to bring sum. But they dint.

  3. No guns, just bear spray, plastic restraint ties, you know, the stuff you bring on a peaceful tourist tour of the Capitol.

  4. Using the term Inusrrection is mileading and hyperbole...but then again that is what you folks do, innit?

What, exactly, are you gonna investigate? There is no evidence, so there can be no investigation because there is no reason to investigate.

After all, that is the reasoning that y'all used when it came to voter fraud.

  5. Well we were all waiting for it and the cultist and big lie believer
    showed as expected.

No evidence then all those nearly 400 people really are tourists
and not charged. There is no evidence, seriously? That is beyond
    hyperbole its reaching for fantasy.

Its not hyperbolic at all. Its the perfect way to categorize
criminal assault, trespass, theft of property, and destruction
    of property.

The only thing lacking was torches and pitchforks.

  6. Most or nearly all normal DC tourists do want to hang Mike Pence. That is a truthy factoid.

If five people had died during a BLM protest, you’d be mentioning it every day as a reminder of how bloodthirsty the movement is.

  8. I'm sorry if I get carded for this, but fuck you assholes. They killed and injured cops, shat in the capitol building, and if they thought there wasn't any "there" there, they wouldn't be fighting so hard to keep it out of the media before the midterms.
It's all on video and you lying bastards have seen it.
Get over yourselves. Just because your orange fire god says reality isn't real does not make it so. You want to destroy the concept of truth when the facts don't make you look good, and really, no facts anywhere make you look anything other than fraudulent, so that's hardly surprising.
But I won't sit here and just let you say the goddamn insurrection didn't happen.

  9. LOL ~ I'll take that as a "yes".

EYup, just a few tourists, not hardly any at all, easily forgotten ...

What in heaven's name brought you to Casablanca?

      Rick:
My health. I came to Casablanca for the waters.

      Captain Renault:
The waters? What waters? We're in the desert.

      Rick:
      I was misinformed.

Technically, it will be determined in court

  12. NJT, sadly, you are in error about that. This guy sure did.

  13. NJT: Yes, they did, and four more of them have been indicted for it:

(Reuters) - A newly unsealed indictment on Sunday named additional members of the Oath Keepers, a far-right militia group that participated in the storming of the U.S. Capitol, as defendants for their role in the January 6th incident.

The court filing listed three individuals by name, Joseph Hackett, Jason Dolan, and William Isaacs, while a fourth person's name was hidden. Three of them have been arrested in recent days, court records show. It was unclear why the fourth person's name was not revealed in the court documents.

This superseding indictment, part of a larger federal government criminal conspiracy case, now includes a total of 16 Oath Keepers. The other 12 co-defendants have pleaded not guilty.

Prosecutors have said in recent weeks that others members of the militia group planned to commit violence and brought firearms into the city.

In a Nov. 9 planning meeting for the attack, the founder of the Oath Keepers, identified as Person One in the filing, referred to the attack as an insurrection, saying "We're gonna be posted outside DC, awaiting the president's orders...We want him to declare an insurrection."

The Oath Keepers accept anyone, the recent court filing notes, but "explicitly focus on recruiting current and former military, law enforcement, and first-responder personnel."
