The people who stormed the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday are getting support from the president of Chicago’s Fraternal Order of Police lodge.
John Catanzara, elected last May to represent the city’s 12,000 rank-and-file police officers, said he understands the frustration behind the riot, which led to four deaths, injuries to several police officers and damage to the iconic building.
“There was no arson, there was no burning of anything, there was no looting, there was very little destruction of property,” Catanzara told WBEZ in a Wednesday evening phone interview. “It was a bunch of pissed-off people that feel an election was stolen, somehow, some way.”
What there was, however, ws the murder of a police officer.
A U.S. Capitol Police officer, Brian Sicknick, has died of injuries suffered when supporters of President Donald Trump assaulted the legislative building, the force said, bringing to five the number dead from the riot.
I am certain that there will be eight different kinds of waffling and evasion from the supporters of Trump's Beer-Belly Putsch, who will say shit about maybe Officer Sicknick died from other causes. You can bet the farm that if there had been a Black Lives Matter protest going on, that the Blue Lives Matter crowd would be calling for scalps. Here, not so much.

And tell that to the black capitol workers who were seen sweeping up the broken glass afterward, and the congressional staffers who had their workplaces ransacked and their files and computers strewn all over the floors and broken. Being pissed off does not excuse criminal behavior, and the fact that the crime scene was the US capitol building raises the bar behavior wise.
Also, I seem to remember disabled activists being dragged out of their wheelchairs and arrested for protesting cuts to Medicaid quite peacefully.
The real deciding factor, though, is that the insurrectionists see what they have done as a success and are planning a bigger riot for inauguration day.
They are attempting to usurp the power they lost in the election, and I do not give two hairs on a rat's furry ass what delusions they are operating under because of the propaganda they consume, they are fucking adults and thus responsible for their actions, which does include how they respond to the goddamn lies they are addicted to.
