Today, after a yearlong process that produced hundreds of submissions and research involving space professionals and members of the general public, we can finally share with you the name by which we will be known: Guardians. pic.twitter.com/Tmlff4LKW6

I gather that "space cadets" or "space cases" was too obvious. But "guardians", for a bunch of people whose office uniforms could be cocktail dresses and heels?
One of the first acts of the next administration should be to disestablish this rump "force" of noncombatants.
Space Cowboys is out? That's discrimination.
ReplyDeleteCan President Biden just null and void the whole idea? I'd certainly hope so. So many things we need to spend money on and this is certainly not one of those.
ReplyDeleteDonny wasted far too much money already on this and his wall.
w3ski
They didn't consider Galactic Heroes, Space Balls, Vacuum Heads or Buzz Lightyears? Should have had a contest to name the new force like our good frozen North neighbors did: then it would be named trump's Spacy McSpaceface Force. That has a ring.
ReplyDeleteYes, w3ski, Joe should do a 180 on most Trumpite actions and dismantle it all. Save that insignia bling though, be as valuable as the inverted airplane postage stamp some day.
Guardians of the, ah, um, ok, planet.
ReplyDeleteDo they have music?
Do they have a mobile force?
faceplatepalm!
Eck!
I remember when AF Missileers were refered to as “Coneheads.”
ReplyDeleteNot even Troopers?
ReplyDeleteBased on what they do in reality, Console Warriors would also fit.
I heard about that this morning. It can't be real. Then i remembered where i am and where we have been these past few years. At least in my dreams we survive or at least wake up.
ReplyDeleteI could never imagine in a million years that we would have a Space Force of Guardians dedicated to defending Mission, Culture, Heritage! Unbelievable.
Console Commandos? (Because”keyboard commandos”!has been used.)
ReplyDeleteBut "guardians", for a bunch of people whose office uniforms could be cocktail dresses and heels?
ReplyDeleteMost of the guys I know in the computer security field don' look great in cocktail dresses and can't walk in heels. Well, I think.
Not that there would be anything wrong with that, of course. But isn't this similar to those pictures of Russian (?) girls in uniform goose stepping in high heels? Err, not that there's anything wrong with that either, I guess, but a new member of the Joint Chiefs? Shouldn't we be cutting these guys back or something?
