A new report details multiple instances of President Donald Trump making disparaging remarks about members of the U.S. military who have been captured or killed, including referring to the American war dead at the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery in France in 2018 as “losers” and “suckers.”If you want to know in how much regard Trump holds the military, his niece has something to relate:
Trump said Thursday that the story is “totally false.”
...
Staffers from the National Security Council and the Secret Service told Trump that rainy weather made helicopter travel to the cemetery risky, but they could drive there. Trump responded by saying he didn’t want to visit the cemetery because it was “filled with losers,” the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity because the official was not authorized to discuss it publicly.
...
The Defense officials also confirmed to The AP reporting in The Atlantic that Trump on Memorial Day 2017 had gone with his chief of staff, John Kelly, to visit the Arlington Cemetery gravesite of Kelly’s son, Robert, who was killed in 2010 in Afghanistan, and said to Kelly: “I don’t get it. What was in it for them?”
...
The magazine said Trump also referred to former President George H.W. Bush as a “loser” because he was shot down by the Japanese as a Navy pilot in World War II.
President Trump and his ex-wife Ivana Trump said they would disown and disinherit their son Donald Trump Jr. if he joined the Army, a new book by the president's niece claims.Sure, That is entirely consistent with how Cadet Bone Spurs has approached his entire life: What's in it for him, never a thought for anyone else, let alone his country. Joining the military means that one puts the need of their country ahead of one'sown life, a choice that, to a grifter like Trump, is utterly inconceivable.
"Donny was going to join the army or some bullshit like that, and Donald and Ivana told him if he did, they’d disown him in a second,” the book recounts the president's brother, Robert Trump, telling Mary L. Trump, the book's author.
General Kelly has to be a paragon of self-control, for it's hard to see how a reasonable jury would have convicted a father for strangling a man who had stood in front of the son's grave and called the kid a loser for joining the military during a time of two wars.
The funny thing in all this, if there is a funny thing, is that Trump, a man who has told tens of thousands of documented lies as President, a man for whom all news operations (except Fox) have had to fact-check him in almost every story printed or aired these days, is swearing that this story isn't true.
Trump lies. He lies about everything. Why on Earth would any rational person take him at his word?

1. One would have to conclude that he has the same low regard for civilians who run towards the danger: police, firefighters, paramedics and the Secret Service. For only a loser and a sucker would lay down his or her life for Donald Trump.
I was kicked out of the Army. Took some doin’ nearly fifty years ago. Dishonorably discharged, unfit for military service. Kinda’ proud of it down through the years, not proud of what I did but of being undesirable, an outsider, tho something that has tended to keep that old 300 Savage 99 company in the closet. You’de no more find me prancing around in a parade than panhandling a street corner. Needless-to-say, I have a bad attitude about the military, about it’s premise, its purpose, it’s exploitation.
ReplyDeleteThat said, Our Very Own Tea Pot Dictator’s expressed opinion of service-members is beneath even those such as I, is the most dishonorable thing I’ve ever heard.
Strip it: from cell phones to credit cards, clothes, car keys, citizenship, and load it on a slowboat to Russia.

CM,sorry if this is off topic, but I wanted to tell you that while I was standing in line at the Home Depot (Hilo), I tried to pull up this site. I got an error message saying that the site was blocked due to content. You pissed somebody off.
ReplyDeleteTo confirm this, I ask other readers to try it at their local Home Depot.
I don't know why I'd be blocked there. Other than insulting the idiot that they had as a CEO back in the '00s, I don't think I've said anything bad about the Big Box of Orange.
ReplyDeleteThat may change...
I'd first heard of the 2018 D day cemetery debacle and some of
ReplyDeletehis comments were news then. That it pops up and all is not
a surprise as Drumpf is a trash bag full of waste.
Every marine should step up to him remove the dress white
glove and issue a hand slap to the face. Army, Air force,
and Navy can go with their usual insult response. Drumpfs
words are a personal insult to those that have put their
uniform on and did their job.
He is still a fake preznut and we never had fake news save
for his calling it that. Considering his 5 digit lie rate how
he has any creds is beyond me. He is a habitual liar.
Eck!
Can't wait to hear the what about's from the trumpanzee's. This won't matter at all. On the issue with having the blog blocked, I had the same thing happen in of all places a hospital. This site and others( Hackwackers and New York crank come to mind)
ReplyDeleteseafury, I'm guessing that they've blocked me for firearms content.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to go do some more of that.
The owner of the great orange satan is a proud deplorable, a trump sucker through and through. The only reason I can think of you would be "blocked" would be if the store offered free wifi, in which they have the right to refuse service. If you're surfing on data then my best guess is the building itself, in particular all the metal in the ceilings and roof, interfering with perhaps any random website, not just your's, and then only at dead spots in the building, that move around. I've seen this in a couple of the WalMarts and Costcos I've worked on.

ReplyDeleteWhether or not Trump said what the Atlantic is claiming, it all depends on what you want to believe. Those that love Trump would jump off a bridge for him, those that despise him would push him off that bridge. Nobody can change either side’s opinion of the guy.
ReplyDeletePersonally, if don’t know or care whether or not he said it, my vote is already decided based upon the last 3-1/2 years. I respect and appreciate those in military service. Trump’s actions and behavior shows his respect/disdain for those that serve.

And thank you, comrade, for removing that post. He was just trolling, and looking to get a reaction. By deleting and ignoring the asshole, he doesn’t get the responses he craves.
ReplyDeleteDale
Yeah, the trolls are all yawping "FAKE NEWS!" about it, even as more corroborating witnesses come out, but I just have this to say: Y'all love Fergus for the displays of bad manners he exhibits all the damn time, so why are you trying to defend this one?
ReplyDeleteI fail to believe you have found a "bridge too far" with this creep, and have to figure that you've finally found an issue that you have to admit will hurt y'all politically.

ReplyDeleteAs a Vietnam vet, I’m devastatingly heartbroken to hear the failing Commander in Chief continue his disparagement of and his gob smacking lack of empathy for our military. It’s the most egregious calumny that dishonours all those who put their country first when the call came.
ReplyDeleteAs with any enemy, foreign or domestic, we will defeat the threat. Not with bullets this time, but with ballots. Ensure that your ballot will be counted by getting it in on time and with all requisite information and signatures. We continue to serve an honorable and grateful nation by doing so.
It will be a quiet revolution, but a raucous celebration afterward!
The lack of evidence for Russian Collusion matters nothing?
ReplyDeleteWell, except for Steele and his foreign interference paid for by the HRC campaign.
“Lock her up! Lock her up!” Another campaign promise not kept by the God-Emperor Trump.
ReplyDeleteO-O, the Mueller report stated that there was evidence of the Russians interfering with the 2016 election in which they slanted social media sites to entice people to vote for Trump. The report stated that there was no CONCLUSIVE evidence that the Trump campaign team collided with the Russians. In that statement, you are somewhat correct, collusion could not be proven.
ReplyDeleteHowever, the report also went on that the Trump campaign took actions that could become charges of obstruction of justice in blocking the testimony of some witnesses. However is was beyond the scope of the Mueller team’s directive and that they would turn to evidence over to the Justice Department. And we saw what Barr did with that.
Focusing on one factoid and using that to ‘prove’ Trump isn’t a bad person is like pointing out that your shoes are clean because you didn’t step in the mud puddle that was in the shit covered street.
