President Donald Trump on Tuesday said a massive shift to mail-in voting in the November presidential election could cause so many problems officials might have to re-do the vote. That Trump doesn't have the power to do anything has never stopped him from wanting to do it. That something is wrong hasn't stopped Trump, ever.
Trump has said repeatedly and without evidence that a shift to universal mail-in voting - something most states have not proposed doing - will lead to fraud in the Nov. 3 election, when he faces Democratic challenger Joe Biden who currently holds a substantial lead in public opinion polls.
Trump does not have the authority to reschedule an election. A national election “re-do” has never occurred in the more than 200 years the U.S. has held elections, including during the Civil War, the Great Depression and two world wars.
It is not beyond the realm of possibility that it will take tanks to get him out of the White House. He may flee to his dacha in Moscow to agitate and plot a revolution.
The sad things is that there are probably somewhere between ten and thirty percent of the population who will be more loyal to Trump than they are to the Constitution. The short-hand term for such people is "traitors". We may be in for a very rough time.
Meanwhile, the Senate Intelligence Committee, which is run by Republicans, concluded that Trump's 2016 campaign was indeed working with Russian spies. Kushner, Bannion and Donny, Jr. lied under oath to the Senate panel.
The Trump Administration is a nest of traitors and criminals.
I mentioned, on another site that this latest on Bannon was more proof. I got a reply of "what about Hillary". She is still living in their heads rent-free over 3 years later?
ReplyDeleteOur election was influenced by Russia according to the evidence presented, and there is no reason it won't continue through this coming election. We can't even get a conviction because the rot goes too deep.
I openly question the patriotism of those that deny this still.
Whatever happened to the "I'd rather be Dead than Red crowd"?

Whatever happened to the "I'd rather be Dead than Red crowd"?
ReplyDeleteThey sold their souls to Putin for tax breaks.
Fergus hates the idea of mail in voting because the GRU can't hack a paper ballot.

Well....
ReplyDeleteFirst Hillary lost, if shes got space in their heads its because their
heads are empty. Seems based on everything she lost because the game
was rigged.
That sword has two edges and cuts both ways. So they know it can
happen to them.
The other end of all this is what about the Electoral College, last
I check they say who won! They do nto need the whole popular vote
as likely that was hard to get in 1798, 18020 or even as late as
the current electronic age.
Can the paper vote be hacked, shure its been happening in the
south for decades. The upside its its easir to trace what
happened and someone (many someones) will have to risk their
lives and fortunes or hope for a pardon.
Ir enough people stand up and say I voted for X and not Y how
the wrong one get enough votes there will be some splainin to do.
That and if all that bad then he is still out and the procedures in
the laws and all will take precedence.
Then if all else the soap box was used, the ballot box as well,
leaving the cartridge box to sort it out.
Eck!
No one is loyal to Trump. No one is even loyal to the Republican Party. But there are a lot of people who hate Democrats -- enough to discard every artifact of civilization to keep them out of power. When those people cast about for a talismanic symbol of their group affiliation, right now, Trump comes to hand, but it isn't about Trump. Soon enough (on a historical scale of time) it will be somebody else.
ReplyDeleteThere are also a lot of people who hate Republicans. Which set is bigger? There isn't really any way to find out.
But it is false, and therefore harmful, to believe or assert that the two sets can coexist; or that any of the institutions (inadequately) defined in the 1787 Constitution are still able to function.
