Go to Ft. Hood Because You Have Orders.
Stay Because You've Been Murdered.

Ft. Hood has emerged as the most crime-ridden Army base.

The why it's that way isn't obvious. But what does seem to be going on is a culture of cover-up and denial, both on and off-base. Nobody's going to earn goodwill for promotion by uncovering and dealing with a toxic culture of crime. The off-base community doesn't want to upset Big Army by aggressively prosecuting soldiers who have committed crimes.

Funny how Trump and his bootlickers keep blathering about crime-ridden cities, but they ignore any such place in a red state, such as Ft. Hood.

  1. Another US military base named for a treacherous racist slave master loser, Confederate General John Bell Hood. But he was a great gift for the north because of his over aggressive tactics. Going on the offence outside Atlanta, for example, was as effective for Hood as the Battle of the Bulge was for trump's model and hero Heer Schicklegruber. Trump kept a copy of his unreadable book near his bed, many people say. Because many fine people were nazis. But chances are very good that trump is unable to actually read a book. He probably learned a lot from Mein Kampf though from osmosis, keeping it under his pillow.

  2. And if you bother to look, it was happening before 2012 as well.

But then again, that is hard to blame on Donnie, innit?

It is, also, the largest training base, so one might expect some higher numbers than smaller bases.

  3. Fort Hood really had no redeeming qualities to begin with (from a being stationed at point of view).

  4. Classic ignoring of the point, B.

Which I'll restate for your convenience:

Trump is blithering on about crime in Blue cities. A crime wave coming out of military base in a Red state is of now concern to him.

They could be carpeting bodies in Red cities and Trump would be silent. Because your guy is, by his own mouth and his own actions, only the president for those places that voted for him.

  5. Fort Hood/Killeen is a hellhole. The streets outside are lined with payday lenders and tote the note places. A co-worker tried to make a go of running a quadplex there, but the soldiers could barely afford to pay the rent necessary to keep it in even acceptable shape. The locals have become adept at bleeding soldiers and their families dry. These problems go back to about 1980, when we “boosted” the military without a big raise in pay and also unshackled the lenders.
