Seems People Don't Like Their Governors when They Suck at Their Jobs; Ron DeathSantis Ed.

Republican governors four states with surging coronavirus case numbers have seen their approval ratings sink in recent weeks, according to survey data obtained by Axios.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey and Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp all had disapproval ratings of 55 percent or higher in the survey taken between July 13 and July 19.

Ducey and DeSantis have the highest disapproval rating among the group, at 62 percent and 58 percent, respectively. All four governors are in the middle of their terms, which expire in 2022.

  1. There seems to be a much higher level of suck in some states:

    Coronavirus deaths per million:

    1. New Jersey 1776

    3. Connecticut 1233
    4. Massachusetts 1221
    5. Rhode Island 935
    6. Belgium 845
    7. England 667
    8. Spain 608
    9. Italy 580
    10. Sweden 556
    11. France 462
    12. Chile 442
    13. United States 432
    14. Peru 394
    15. Arizona 379
    16. Brazil 371
    17. Netherlands 358
    18. Ireland 355
    19. Mexico 301
    20. Ecuador 299

(In compiling this data I left out many states and additional countries to provide context, but you can go look at the data yourself here. I also added in Arizona and Georgia, two more states that have been much discussed in the media of late. California’s death rate per million, by the way, is between Florida and Texas, at 198. I added Germany because the German response to the coronavirus has been universally praised around the globe as the best of all western democracies.)

  2. You can show stats all you want while there are a number of cases still in ICU and it will mischaracterize the death rate. Once Texas, Florida, Georgia and California clear our the hospitals we can compare their numbers to NY and NJ.

  3. Do you mean that while I provide stats and facts, you provide opinion and propaganda?

  4. The stats and facts your provide are accurate at the time you research them. However, as some data is incomplete, partial data is being compared to whole, completed data. At least that is what I think CP88 is arguing.

  5. I read the link this morning, the article is 7 days old using 7 day old data. Anyone serious should realize by now that the data gets stacked on certain days of the week. Using daily data doesn't tell you shit.

Want something more recent? Like yesterday? It seems the trend is continuing.

Question for CP: Got a source for those ICU numbers? You seem to be using all the unsourced stats you want. Also, do you mean that we can't look for statistical trends until the hospitals have no Covid cases? I guess "clear out the hospitals" = they die.

  6. By your own admission, you've cherry-picked data to reflect poorly on New England.

The rubes are in the other side of the street.

  7. No cherry picking necessary to make those states look bad, they've done a shitty job no doubt about it.
It ain't cherry picking to use facts to refute bias.

  8. How are those states doing now compared to the southern states? Even Your Orange Overlord said that the Northeast we doing well.

  9. I don't have an overlord. We'll see how the death rate ends up but current data suggests that it is decreasing. Coronavirus positivity does not equal bad outcomes. If you are older and/or have certain comorbidities you need to watch your ass. Too late for the poor fuckers in senior living facilities in at least two of those northeastern states. This country needs to get back to an acceptable level of normalcy.
People are being fucked with too much.
