Elon Musk launched into an expletive-laden rant on Tesla’s earnings call Wednesday, calling shelter-in-place orders “fascist” and demanding political officials “give people back their g-- d--- freedom.”It's not about freedom or anything like it. All it is about is that the pandemic is costing Musk money and He. Does. Not. Like. It.
“To say that they cannot leave their house and they will be arrested if they do, this is fascist,” he said, before the call abruptly cut out. “This is not democratic — this is not freedom.”
The company was forced to shut down its factory in Fremont, Calif., just as it was ramping up production for its Model Y, the crossover vehicle it expects to be its best-selling product. Musk outlined his concerns about that shutdown, saying the inability to resume production was a “serious risk” before launching into his missive. Musk has also been a vocal critic of coronavirus measures on social media, tweeting Tuesday night, “FREE AMERICA NOW.”
Musk is no different from Charlie Koch, Brian Kemp or Donald Trump: People need to go back to work so the rich don't lose money, coronavirus be damned.
It's bad enough in my county with the "freedumb fighters" that refuse to wear a face covering. Now you'd think the Revolution has started with these "I need and a right to get sick" protest marches. One guy wanted a ride to the nearby city protest. I thought about giving him a one-way bus ticket.
ReplyDeleteAll the real Authorities agree that "massive testing" must be in place before lifting restrictions and that is just not available here. If you are sick enough to get through their screening process, then you can be tested, but that is far from widespread.
What happened to Cheetolini's "testing at Wally's parking lot"? I'd go to that virus-infected hell hole for that. I know more hot air from a Con Man. Even if that was one of his few good suggestions. Even third world countries have testing centers.
I guess we are in a "shit hole country" now.
60,000 plus Americans Dead, mostly preventable deaths, from a virus and some people are still acting like that means nothing.
Starting to feel like Dorthy after Kansas, just where are we now?

After Elon has pulled a week's worth of janitorial shifts at a hospital or nursing home, he can get back to me on this.

I saw a comment somewhere saying that Trump's ideas for injecting Lysol and shining UV rays up our asses is the closest any Republican has come to providing a concrete replacement plan for Obamacare.
ReplyDeleteYay capitalism!. Using, abusing and even killing people is OK if you have capital. It's called 'employment': you employ (put in place) people in jobs that can ruin their health or even kill them. You 'make' money out of using (up) their bodies and health carelessly. Better yet, you sell people on how any alternative to (or responsibility for) this is bad, evil Godless socialism. Live free and die. We are so blessed.
