iOS 13

If you have an iPhone and you have not yet installed iOS 13 on it, I have one word of advice: Don't.

iOS 13 is, first off, a battery hog. I put it on when it first came out and my battery life on my SE went to shit. That was a bit of a surprise, for part of the hype of iOS 13 was that it improved battery life.

iOS 13 was released on September 19th. Five days later, Apple released 13.1. 13.1.1 was released three days after that. Yesterday, or three days later, iOS 13.1.2 was released.

In other words, iOS 13 is as buggy as a Louisiana bayou.

If you're still on iOS 12, you may want to wait to upgrade until 13 gets to the point that it can go a few weeks without being patched/repaired/unfucked a little more.

  1. I did update and battery life is better....

After I turned off stuff that was formerly off. Seems every major
update something get turned on by error or default. That required
getting in to the various menues and shutting stuff down that is
    never used, lest by me.

Least that's my world at 13.1. Yes, stay away of anything.0. ;-)

    Eck!

  2. Every version of iOS seems to make it slower, more power-hungry, and harder to use. Meanwhile, the later the version of Android, the faster it runs and the better the battery life and the easier it is to use.

One of my friends made the mistake of ugprading to 13. He regrets it. Badly. Moving icons around, for example, is no longer the long-click-to-wobble that it has been for 11 prior years, now you get a frickin' *menu* when you long click. Just like on Windows Phone on a HTC Hero circa 2005. And buried two levels deep in that menu is the selection to move the icon. If he is describing this correctly -- WTF, Apple?!
