Congressional Republicans recently circulated talking points on gun violence that falsely described the El Paso massacre and other mass shootings as “violence from the left.”
...
“White nationalism and racism are pure evil and cannot be tolerated in any form," the document said. “We also can’t excuse violence from the left such as the El Paso shooter, the recent Colorado shooters, the Congressional baseball shooter, Congresswoman Giffords’ shooter and Antifa."
I wish this was a joke. It's not. It'a a Big Lie. The El Paso shooter was parroting Trump's racist screeds about immigrants. Gabby Giffords is a Democrat. I am unaware of any "mass shootings" that are linked to Antifa (other than events such as the D-Day landings).
As the article goes on to mention, the FBI has noted that a majority of domestic terrorist incidents have been perpetrated by white supremacists. But the Republicans have to lie about all that, because they have been wrapping themselves in white supremacist rhetoric.
Play with fire, get burned.

Big Lie?
ReplyDeleteIt's not like they were, either of them, Trump supporters. They supported Left politicians. They supported Leftist causes. (This is not to say they are "Leftists" either, mind you.) But hardly Right Wing.
The only thing they have in common with other Mass Shooters is that they were both using prescription SSRI medication and other recreational pharmaceuticals.
You want to blame this on Donnie: I get that. But this, I think, isn't a Left/Right issue.
2 out of how many mass shootings in the past few years, B?
ReplyDeleteThe Kool-Aid drinkers always had their version of reality, and they tend to be ignorant by choice. Yes, The Democrats were the party for slavery, "once". Yes, nazis did have the "word" socialist in their name. Times do change, except for them I guess. It's not so surprising that they have disassociated themselves from White Nationalistic Terrorism. "It's You, not Me (na-na)"
ReplyDeletePersonally I more fear the time coming when they not only accept it but glory in it. Then will have cruelty unseen in many years.
Many of them are already becoming deranged in conversations, like their master. This kind of declaration will only make them more secure in their warm piles of excrement.

Hmmm. El Paso shooter parroting Trump, New Zealand shooter citing Trump, 7 "Right-Wing" extremists arrested by the FBI in the last 48 hours, the Florida man with Trump and Republican decals plastered over his van that send suspected mail bombs to CNN, Biden, and others; David Duke's endorsement... Shall I go on?
ReplyDeleteTo deny there is a connection between Trump and the terrorists (for that is what they really are) is ludicrous. You'd have to be an idiot not to see the support Trump is directly and indirectly giving these nut cases with his rhetoric. Either that, or you're a good minion and follow along quietly, as long as it doesn't affect you.

Willful blindness is still blindness, Dale.
ReplyDeleteYou ability to cherry pick details in order to blame the Right is amazing.
You need to look more carefully at the examples you chose to post here. Most were, at best tenuously connected to the Right. Many of your supposed connections (once you get past the media hype and actually look at their history) had a more clear connection to and sympathized more with the Left.
But don't let actual details get in the way of your hatred.
We will remember who supported this clown while he did this to us.

Sorry, I don't see the sky as red. I see it as blue. Not everything is a conspiracy. Take off the aluminum foil hat. Not everyone is out to get you.
