One thing Trump has normalized is that it is now acceptable, as a nation, to break one's word. For example, the Japanese are planning to go back to killing whales for fun and profit. They are going to confine their murderous activities to their own waters-- probably out of fear that some other nation may send their navy to arrest (or sink) their whalers for violating international law.
The Japanese have been whaling under the guise of research, which everyone recognized was fictitious.
Being an outlaw nation no longer carries much of a stigma in the Age of Trump.
