The Santa Colonel (and Bone Spurs the Buzz Killer)

A misprint in a Sears ad led to an enduring NORAD tradition.

Col. Shoup, the "Santa Colonel", was known as that for the rest of his life, and beyond.

Meanwhile, Trump added his special version of Christmas joy.
In a Christmas Eve call with a young child Monday night, Trump asked a 7-year-old named Coleman whether he or she still believes in Santa Claus, saying that was a "marginal" age for knowing the truth.
"Are you still a believer in Santa? Because at seven, it's marginal, right?" Trump asked the child.
Trump and Melania were taking calls from kids who were trying to reach NORAD.

Which, by the way, shows that Trump lied when he whined that he was "all alone" in the White House.

  1. News media reported Melania flying back to DC immediately after the "poor me" tweet.

  2. Must be in her contract...but will he stiff her when the contract expires, like the other people he signs contracts with?

  3. Merry Christmas, Comrade! That was a nice way to honor Col. Shoup.
