The Noose of Collusion Tightens

A mobile phone traced to President Donald Trump’s former lawyer and “fixer” Michael Cohen briefly sent signals ricocheting off cell towers in the Prague area in late summer 2016, at the height of the presidential campaign, leaving an electronic record to support claims that Cohen met secretly there with Russian officials, four people with knowledge of the matter say.

During the same period of late August or early September, electronic eavesdropping by an Eastern European intelligence agency picked up a conversation among Russians, one of whom remarked that Cohen was in Prague, two people familiar with the incident said.

The phone and surveillance data, which have not previously been disclosed, lend new credence to a key part of a former British spy’s dossier of Kremlin intelligence describing purported coordination between Trump’s campaign and Russia’s election meddling operation.
Cohen continues to deny that he was there.

Still, it seems that the dominoes are falling for Trump.

I suspect that we have maybe nine to twelve months left in the Trump presidency.

  2. I still don't see getting 67 votes in the senate to remove him as long as senate Republicans equate a guilty vote with a primary challenge.
They have to have long since concluded that their legislative goals would be far more successful under a president Pence, but they still continue to eat the crow being served up by their support for the president.

  3. Donnie will leave without impeachment, with Pence promising a pardon, declaring victory over the swamp...”My job is done, the wall is built, the swamp is drained, we gave American’s the hugest tax cut ever, and we are spending the most ever on our military”. It doesn’t matter than none of it is true.

  4. RJ and Doug,

I think that the Syria withdrawal has opened the eyes of a number of Republicans as to how much damage Trump is doing to the international reputation of the U.S. They want him gone, and if Mueller's report gives them a figleaf of a reason, they'll pull the trigger on him.

Then comes the question as to whether Trump will be smart enough to cut a deal, or if he'll fight it to the end and risk everything.
