I agree with Booman, in that releasing this late on July 3rd was a pretty naked attempt to ensure that the announcement was buried in the news cycle. So to that extent, at least, the Senators in the GOP tried to protect Donald I.
But at least they weren't as slavishly devoted to Der Groppenfuhrer as Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Toady) and his pack of ghouls.
