After a little more than an hour of deliberations, a jury on Tuesday found Jacob S. Goodwin guilty of malicious wounding in the group beating of DeAndre Harris following the Unite the Right rally last summer.Note that the defense attorney did try to play the "scary black dude" card during closing arguments, which drew a reprimand from the judge.
Goodwin, 22, and his mother mouthed, “I love you,” to each other after the jury’s verdict was read to the court.
The jury recommended 10 years in prison with the option of some suspended time, a $20,000 fine and empathy training. A formal sentencing hearing was set for Aug. 23.
I don't know if "empathy training" is going to make much of a dent in the mindset of a modern-day Hitler youth. But whatever.

And Virginia does not have parole, if you are sentenced to 10 you do 10, minus some for good time you can do as "little" as 80% or so, I think. Maybe that will train some empathy.

Can I ask why the white community isn’t be8ng asked, nay, demanded to speak out against this fellow. If it was a Muslim, there would be demands that he be denounced by all religious and political leaders in the Islamic world. Why does the Christian world get a pass?
