As a Californian, I would like to apologize to the country for this bozo. My only defense is that he's not from my district, which elected Barbara Lee again last fall with 90% of the vote.
ReplyDeleteAnd about her, Ryan stripped her amendment out of the DOD appropriations bill that would have sunset the 2001 AUMF and required congress to draft a new one in eight months, so 9-11 couldn't keep on being used as the reason for wars that don't have anything to do with it.
It was a minor miracle that she got it passed in committee (I guess some Republicans are a little squeamish about handing this president the same blank check they gave the previous two) and she's pissed that Ryan stripped it out without a vote.
I guess he doesn't like the idea of lending his name to any upcoming conflicts that might arise as methods of holding onto the presidency...
