Ah, DFB, the king of noble Whig fanfiction to ease the jittery nerves of wealthy shut-ins. Ever since the wheels came off of the Bush administration and his gig insulting liberals magically transformed into his current, better paying gig of rewriting all of the inconvenient parts of conservative history as a tale of noble Whigs navigating a treacherous world infested with evil hippies, all guided by the magic measuring tape of David Fucking Brooks, which calculates the distance from the latest Republican atrocity to his latest imagined Evil Hippie Outcome and plants his little flag of humility and moderation right at the very mid-point, exclaiming that to be the only real sensible position.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that the Evil Hippie Outcome is fictitious and the other fact that his entire enterprise gives cover to the extremists on the right are just small details for Mr. David Brooks, the highest priest in the High and Holy Church of Both-Siderism.
But hey, that give-political-cover-to-monsters dollar is a pretty darn good dollar.
