April the Giraffe Update
This may not end well.
I was wrong. Those were the front legs. The baby came out head first and when it was time, just slid right out. It's moving its head.

A simple rule that every farmer knows. If the hooves are pointed up everything is normal.
ReplyDeleteIf the hooves are pointing down it is a breech birth and you have to turn the calf (or foal) by shoving it back in. Yes, I have turned a calf a couple of times.

Al's right, and 'that' gets messy... And you never get those shirts/pants clean. But you do what you have to.
