Alaoui was born in Morocco but has lived in Canada for more than 20 years, traveling to the US regularly to visit family. But on her way to Vermont for a day of shopping with two of her children and an adult cousin, she was stopped for four hours at the border.
Alaoui – who wears a hijab – said border officials asked her several questions about her faith. “He said ‘Do you practice? Which mosque do you go to? What is the name of the imam? The only people whose interests this advances are our enemies who have been trying to convince a billion Muslims that America is their enemy.
It is a matter of time till they extend this to all returning US citizens/residents. For now, they pick and choose, but they know that as we rely more on our phones, it's too juicy a bite to pass up.

CBP did this to a friend of mine. Detained him for 8 hours incommunicado until he coughed up his passwords for his phone and laptop.
And that was before Trump was even a viable candidate.
