The Trump administration is considering a proposal to mobilize as many as 100,000 National Guard troops to round up unauthorized immigrants, including millions living nowhere near the Mexico border, according to a draft memo obtained by The Associated Press.Spicer denies it, of course, but he's got a good track record of lying.
The 11-page document calls for the unprecedented militarization of immigration enforcement as far north as Portland, Oregon, and as far east as New Orleans, Louisiana.
Still, if Obama had proposed mobilizing several divisions' worth of National Guardsmen to do cop work, the outrage from the Right would have surpassed the "Jade Helm" and "FEMA Death Camps" conspiracy rantings. But when it's their guy who is proposing sending troops into the streets---
Ummm....
ReplyDeleteNot true.
ReplyDeleteYou, like AP, got rolled by a troll.
'Cause you wanted to believe it...Wanted desperately for it to be true.
But it isn't.

That's it, huh? "Ummm...."?
ReplyDeleteYou can say all,you want to about fake news and stuff, but things like this are the real stuff. It doesn't matter if they decided not to do it, just the fact they were at some point willing to consider it is downright scary. Comrade makes a valid point, repeatedly over the last three weeks, and there are crickets...if Obama or Clinton were proposing this, Communism in our time!
B., did you read that link? Did you read the memo? The proposal, which was from the upper level of DHS, was to have 11 states activate their National Guard troops to act as adjuncts to police in those states. The rolling is of those who buy into the "it wasn't really intended to do..." excuse. When a mid to high level memo like this gets circulation, it shows the understanding of the mindset of the leadership of the Department by those that are working there.
ReplyDeleteYou see, Jade Helm was a real fear of certain types who had been told, election after election, that those Feds was coming for their guns and had tunnels under the whole USA, linking closed Walmart to be used as reeducation camps (thanks, Louis Gohmert) When you push the message enough, people start to make decisions based upon that message. The truest terrifying thing here is that this kind of proposal was made within the first two weeks for the involved parties. Use of the military or National Guard as an enforcing police force is terrible for the troops, terrible for the civilians, and deadly to the Constitution. Use of the National Guard for emergencies and relief is a whole different ballgame.
I find it funny that you use as an example, Jade Helm.
ReplyDeleteA bunch of "Fake News". Just like this. Different sides, perhaps, but just as (not) credible.
Those folks saw the State as the enemy, and fell for the stories that fit their narrative You fell for this for the same reasons. And yes, I did read both the memo and the article. Did you?
Why yes I did, but Comrade covered it in depth above this post. Also, note that the Administration has verified the document is real.
ReplyDeleteB, you're losing your credibility by stating it's "fake news" while the White House confirms it to be true, and the memo clear states that "...qualified members of the State National Guard.. to perform the functions of an immigration officer..." CP and Ms Fit are correct on this one.
ReplyDeleteDale
I'm just disappointed that Trump has been in office a whole month and he still hasn't done anything about all the damn Chemtrails. They're as bad as ever.
ReplyDeleteNJT, are you sure he's not on the White House roof, between 4 AM tweets, spraying at the sky?
