The Irony is Almost Palpable, Voter Fraud Edition
A Des Moines woman has been arrested on suspicion of voting twice this month in the general election, police and court records show.
Terri Lynn Rote, 55, was booked into the Polk County Jail about 3:40 p.m. Thursday on a first-degree election misconduct charge, which is a Class D felony.
Rote, a registered Republican, reportedly cast an early voting ballot at the Polk County Election Office, 120 Second Ave., and another ballot at a county satellite voting location in Des Moines, according to a Des Moines police report.
So, why'd she do it?
According to an Iowa Public Radio report, Rote voted two times for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
“I wasn’t planning on doing it twice, it was spur of the moment,” Rote said in an interview with the radio station before she added an oft-repeated line on the Trump campaign trail: “The polls are rigged.”
Gah.

Of course, this is free-lance fraud. Not like the vast quantity (NOT) of deliberate partisan fraud the True The Vote i/d/i/o/t/s/ people insist goes on.
I have to stop asking "What is wrong with these people?" Someone might tell me.

They've got a couple more cases here in Des Moines they are investigating. No matter who they vote for, they should get the full effect of the law.

ReplyDeleteOn that, one of the houses around here has the "I'm not voting for Monica's ex-boyfriends wife" signs . Just sums up the whole R preoccupation with the Clinton's. Laura killing someone with a car was irrelevant to GWB's qualifications...but they won't agree that the same applies in reverse, cause a husbands actions are ALL her fault, if she's a democrat.

ReplyDeleteAnd I live near Chicago. Unless you are willingly blind, you can't miss it. Been going on since before Kennedy. You know, where the dead vote? (it actually happens (http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2016/10/27/2-investigators-chicago-voters-cast-ballots-from-beyond-the-grave/) all democratic votes too...(and the phrase "vote early, vote often" has a basis in truth here too....
High incidences of voter fraud in Philadelphia, for sure. Many counties in Florida.

I'm sure the RNC has it's areas of voter fraud as well, they just aren't blatant about it. Hide it better.
So B, you admit that both sides have been doing it, but only call out one side?

ReplyDeleteIf you showed me proof of Republican voter fraud, I'd not be surprised. There is already proof of Democratic voter fraud. Lots.

Teh issue is that we accept the phrase (and truth) that "Politics is a dirty game". We shouldn't accept that. Those folks who promote that are not who we need in office.
