The Oregon militia members who occupied a wildlife refuge in protest of the government could face decades in prison under a set of new criminal charges, including firearm offenses, theft of public property and damaging a Native American archaeological site. The one Y'all Qaeda clown who drove a stolen truck to get some beer is facing ten years just for that bit of stupidity.
Decades, likely life in Federal prison await them. Being a martyr for the cause isn't the glory that their recruiter told them it would be.
And the nice thing about federal time is that there's no "good time" or other early release. Get ten, you do ten.
ReplyDeleteDamn shame they didn't lock Lon Horiuchi away for 20 years for his manly display of marksmanship.
ReplyDeleteBut them boys is all held to a lower standard, right?

You have more faith than I. I expect display and little in the way of time to be served. I hope you are right and I am wrong.

Serves them right. If they had any balls they'd have gone in foe suicide bombing and not have had to worry about jail.
ReplyDeletei'm betting (small change only) that Jill is right. I fully expect some judge to wag his finger at the accused and say, "I'm letting you boys off lightly this time, but don't you ever do that again." Either that, or they'll plea bargain a deal that would have The Donald envious.
