Somebody (not Wikipedia) (ETA: The BBC!) had a longish article about Sophie Tucker the other day.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to say that as a teenager I did not appreciate her at all. She was an occasional name in the gossip columns, and the one time I saw her on TV, I was expecting a "red hot mama," and she didn't fit my expectations. I hope that in my old age I am no longer that stupid.
