So what would make tritium out of a Swiss reactor any better than tritium out of any other reactor?
Or is this another instance of "nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American consumer"?

ReplyDeleteThe Swiss tritium probably comes from the CERN reactor, which does have a certain cachet about it. You know, like Ivy League schools have a certain cachet about them that enable them to charge higher tuition than the State University (though the State U's, of late, have begun to catch up to the Ivies).
ReplyDeleteAnother possibility: Swiss tritium comes from the hydrogen produced in making Swiss Cheese, so while it may be radioactive, at least it is a natural food product without all of the unhealthy additives. There is a reason why the light from the product is green.
So yes, the fact that it is Swiss tritium is quite significant from a marketing perspective. Practically, methinks there is not much difference.
