On the other hand, the Dakota would have been analogous to the 182 as the Saratoga would have been to the 206, but Piper stopped making them years ago.

Perhaps it's the high wing too? For surveillance of the sort the FBI is doing, a high wing would seem to be almost a necessity. You can mount a pod under a low wing just fine, but it's hard to beat a high wing for general downward situational awareness, seeing where to aim the camera, and such. I loved the Archer, but for ground reference maneuvers, I preferred the Skyhawk.

ReplyDeleteI don't know...64 days, 22 hours, 19 minutes and 5 seconds endurance is probably over 48 days on station after you take out the refueling time. It would, however, require leaving the donuts at home.
