Well, Isn't That Convenient?
If you look at the address on Google Earth (423 Lagrange St., Boston, MA), you'll see that almost all of the housing in that neighborhood is single-family dwellings. The developers wanted to put the apartments there because a commuter rail station is across the street. The local residents were fighting the project and it had apparently stalled.
So now the old factory buildings there have burned down. Less than three weeks after the property was sold to the developer.
Mighty convenient, wouldn't you say?

Over here in Cape Town there used to be a row of Victorian houses. Same thing, developer couldn't get permission to knock 'em down and build whatever.
ReplyDeleteSo the word went out that there would be no guards on duty for the week.
And all the cast iron walked away. And the window frames. And the wooden floors.
So then they declared themselves the victim and got permission to go ahead.
People can be real lowlifes.
