Well, No Shit. Of Course The House Will "Investigate" the Bergdahl Deal.
Obama could announce a cure for cancer and those putzim would investigate him for not following some asinine protocol.
Fuck those clowns.

COMMENT MODERATION IS IN EFFECT UFN. This means that if you are an insulting dick, nobody will ever see it.
yeah, who cares if the POTUS breaks the law to trade top-level talibs for a scumbag deserter. Pshh, lets talk about real news. I hear Chris Christie closed a bridge!
ReplyDeleteOh, and the scumbag deserter is who? Last I checked, we still have no released explanation of PFC Bergdahl's capture. But why let waiting for facts ruin a good attack!
ReplyDeleteGiven than anything released to Congress seems to be in Press hands within the hour, I'm not sure I blame the Administration for not complying, which isn't a pass, but simply a note that it is likely a poor law that needs modification. And that does not prevent action on it's violation, nor prevent the presentation of mitigating data...neither if which has occurred yet.
Besides, what, CP88 said, let's sum up here:
ReplyDeleteNot notifying Congress of a prisoner swap--Right Wing Outrage.
Torturing people (a felony): Right Wing Applause.
I have the luxury of having been both against torture under Chimpy McBushHitler, and against paying the Danegeld under Obama. As far as the official explanation, I'm inclined to believe the unanimously consistent story told by the members of the armed forces who had contact with him over the story told by the minions of Politifact's 2013 Lie of the Year recipient.
ReplyDeleteAndrew, why not wait until he's told his version, and them compare it to known facts? Oh, because you jump to follow the narrative directed by Capitol Media Partners.
ReplyDeleteHummmm, suddenly it's not just members of the armed services, but a hand-picked group of them, selected for exposure by a Republican media group. If you are so gung-ho on the Constitution and such, why not follow it's tenants...innocent until proven guilty.
Oh I'm not suggesting he be immediately tried for treason and summarily hung. I do disagree with CM's opinion though. I think it's fairly important to know why the POTUS flouted the law (even if it's a bad law, it's the law) to pay the Danegeld for this particular fellow.
ReplyDeleteI'd be tickled pink if the reason turns out that the five talibs we exchanged were chipped and used as hellfire bait. I'd be less enthralled if other reasons emerge.
