Morons. What ever convinced your little pea-brains that walking into businesses with slung rifles and shotguns was ever a good idea? What sort of twisted logic leads you to conclude that you're helping advance the cause of gun rights?
I'll tell you who you're helping: You're helping Mayor Bloomberg and his astroturf groups.
You're not helping us. You're not promoting the Second Amendment. No, you're acting like a bunch of children who don't understand social mores or civilized behavior.
Being "civilized" is refraining from behavior that is boorish or scares the children and the horses. Things such as men wearing hats (including baseball caps) indoors. Being a loudmouthed jerk in public. Wearing crocs in public. Asshole parkers. And openly carrying weapons in towns.
Didn't your mother ever teach you this lesson: "Just because you can, son, doesn't mean that you should."
How the fuck are you "helping" the cause of gun-owners' rights, guys?
This is how we get oodles of laws, from it being illegal to park in front of fire hydrants to having to tell the NSA and the FBI "Thou Shalt Not Spy on Americans". Because things that should be self-evident to a rational adult need to be spelled out for the idiots who cannot seem to conform their behavior to life in a civilized society.
Please, I beg of you: Leave your fucking ARs either at home or in your trucks. Do try to keep your heaters out of sight. There is no point in frightening those who are unfamiliar with firearms.
These are the same geniuses that got local coverage for walking into a Jack in the Box and scaring some of the staff so much they hid in the freezer and called police saying they were being held up!
ReplyDeleteRecently they've been standing on street corners and walking into slow or stopped traffic to pass out flyers for their cause. The usual result is a number of call to police from scared drivers. Their response to the police is disrespectful and crude, usually some form of "this IS my right, don't touch me!"
The police asked them if they could at least warn the correct department of where their protests would be, but they said that violated their rights too. Open Carry Texas has openly disassociated with these morons, and as I've noted before, one of them is gonna get plugged by a scared driver.
A morbidly obese guy and a Napoleon sized short guy. I'm guessing they are trying to make up for something. Whatever keeps you from crying yourself to sleep at night.
ReplyDeleteI'm one of those folks who thinks we have a 2nd Amendment right to own firearms and I own a couple of guns myself, but these jerkwads make gun ownership look like something only idiots, morons, or antisocial scum would do, and who wants to be associated with that?! Man, I own guns, and after seeing this nonsense, I'd vote for more gun restrictions in a heartbeat. Which California actually did because of these open carry jerks -- it used to be legal to open carry in California as long as the guns weren't loaded, but these jerks kept open carrying in public and scaring the sh*t out of both the public and the cops who got called, and so now we got a new law that says you can't even carry your hunting rifle from your house to your car without disassembling it and putting it into a case or box that hides what it is. All because of these jerkwads. Bah humbug!

Someone should tell Napoleon that mostly open carry AND pot is legal in Colorado and Washington. Of course, mixing the two is stupid, but I think he already qualified. For a bonus, we might get a nightly news story of him visiting the local pot store while stroking his rifle...

BadTux, that's what happens, every freaking time. These putzim think that they are working to push the envelope on gun rights, but all they do is get more restrictions. Whether passed by the legislatures or ordered by corporate.
