Which is going to cost some thousands of people their jobs.
Way to go, you fuckers.
Another reason why they may have an interest in establishing the National Security State is that they think this guy is right that everything will come crashing down in the next seven years or so and they want to be ready to toss the rebels into FEMA-camps.*

ReplyDeleteThe bigger pricture is probably worse. I remember the GWB admin time when American businessmen travelled to Europe for sales and meetings and the first they had to say during snack breaks was that they disavowed the GWB policies.
Similarly, American businessmen had a tough time at Farnborough directly after the U.S.Senate cheated on Airbus and cancelled the huge tender for tanker aircraft.
Business is still a lot about personal relations and individual's decisions. Many products can be sourced at identical quality and near-identical price from different companies and countries, and a manager disliking an American business contact may easily give a contract worth millions to another company instead.
That's why the GWB policies were horrible for American businessmen in Europe - and now the NSA spying has become personal for Europe's businessmen. It's not just about some stupid war or other acts of disrespect and civilization declines such as torture. This time it's a direct attack on the business interests.
Amen, SO. I was one of them. I had 3 or 4 versions in French of, "we tried to vote for the other guy, we really did!"
