Look Down From the Sky

Passing overhead in commuter airliners.

Columbus, OH:


Lakehurst Naval Air Engineering Station, or it used to be that. It's now part of some joint-base mashup, purportedly because it "saves money". At least that's what some politically-connected weasel thought. The older runways seem to be not used anymore, they're barely visible by Hangar One in the background.


The summer smog and haze is very noticeable once you're above it.

    Say there sailor, no pun intended. What is the old sailor greeting "fair winds and ....?"
    I just heard of the passing of Earnest Borgnine and all I can think of is "Mchales Navy" with no skipper anymore!
