Space X to the ISS!
The earlier attempt didn't fly when the engines shut down due to a bad check valve on one of the nine engines.
47 years ago, Gemini 6 also had a launchpad shutdown after the engines fired and were shut down by the onboard computer.
Anyway, when Space X can get their capsule man-rated, they can start flying crews to the ISS and compete with the Russians.

COMMENT MODERATION IS IN EFFECT UFN. This means that if you are an insulting dick, nobody will ever see it.
Nice to see "American Technology" at the front again. I was looking at a pic of the Golden Gate Bridge and thinking how hopeless building that would be in this age. At least we can build rockets of some sort besides 'Tank Busters'.
ReplyDeleteThere is some hope for us I guess.

On the other hand, What a sight. The amount of thrust necessary to lift that much weight is unbelievable. Now all we need is that guy with the warp engine and we are Off.
ReplyDeleteIn my lifetime too, Wow.

Yeah, well, at least the Merlin engine is made in this country. Unlike the Atlas, which uses the Russian RD-180 engine.
ReplyDeleteWatched it from my backyard yesterday. Woohoo !
